We don't need to go anywhere
No we don't have to leave this house or these rocking chairs
Cos there's a few more lines on my face
And my legs don't work the same
And all I'll ever need is right here
But when we were younger, oh
On a day like today
We would run through the fields where the wild flowers are
Jump in the river, we could swim so far
Till the sun went down and you showed me the stars
It was you and me and now we have these memories
So while we're sittin' here old and grey let's hit replay
On a day like today
Pictures hanging up on the wall
So everyone who sees them knows that we did it all
And now my hands aren't as steady
And I'm not as tall
But my heart is still as true as before
But when we were younger, oh
On a day like today
We would run through the fields where the wild flowers are
Jump in the river, we could swim so far
Till the sun went down and you showed me the stars
It was you and me and now we have these memories
So while we're sittin' here old and grey let's hit replay
On a day like today
And on the day our bodies get too tired to carry on
We'll go dancing in the stars we once looked upon
On a day like today
We would run through the fields where the wild flowers are
Jump in the river, we could swim so far
Till the sun went down and you showed me the stars
It was you and me and now we have these memories
So while we're sittin' here old and grey let's hit replay
On a day like today
